process mailbox and extract attachments to directory

<p>Given is a network scanner, which has the ability to mail scans to a mailbox. the solution should contain a mailbox on a linux (ubuntu) server (already there) to which the mails are sent. in order to automate to process of opening a mail client and saving the attached scans to a folder, a script should be developed which listens for new mails in the mailbox and automatically extracts the attachments and saves them to a folder.</p>

a small cms system written in rails in which abstract for meetings, events, discussion or stored. in addition to being able to tag the content, the system itself should able to find appropriate tags/classifications for a text based an a bayesian classifier

background tasks rails

for a bulk mailing application written in rails a solution for delivering the mails in the background should be found. the solution should just focus on the actual handling of the background tasks, mail creation and storage etc. is not necessary to be included in the solution. being able to start, stop, pause a task via a web interface would be nice too.

a newsletter application which uses tinymce for content creation. it should be possible to add a custom button to the tinymce toolbar which inserts custom tags into the text, which later will be replaced be data from a database. e.g. Good morning <?last name?>,

in tinymce wrapping everything in <p> tags can be very annoying and is often an unwanted behaviour. how can you force tinymce to use <br /> instead of <p> tags?

create pdf out of rails

a small internal web app used at a company for event administration. event data is input in to a database via a web form, out of this a html form for event registration for users already registered in the companies contact database. Also needed is a simple way to generate a pdf invitation out of the rails model data, without needing to create an extra document in a word processor or similiar...

download whole website

A small company with a pretty old website. They outsourced the administration of the site and only have access to the content via web interface, so no database, ftp etc. login data is available anymore because the company, to which the administration was outsourced is no more and the login data was lost. A new website will be put in place and they want to old website to stay in a subdomain, just static html pages are enough for this purpose. The goal is to download a whole website incl. all graphics, documents etc.
