On amazon.com page for product, visitor can notice reviews and general opinion about product. Expected behavior of users after purchase and certain period of usage is to rank purchased product. This gives other visitors personal insight about product in which they are interested.

Repairing a damaged file system

I had wrong characters also called “Umlaute” in the file system of a server maybe because of multiple operating systems are working on the files over different sharing protocols. For example ö displayed as o’’ ü displayed as u’’ ä displayed as a’’ For some clients the files weren’t available anymore.

Remote control Centos 7 Server with XRDP

It saves time and money, if you can configure a server remotely. Most of this work can be done over the ssh protocol. In some situations it’s helpful, also to have a desktop environment available on the system. I’ve tried VNC in the past, but it was very slow.

Syncing calendars, address book and files with multiple devices

As a user of Linux, Windows and Mac OS, I needed a cross platform software solution for file syncing. I also looked for a solution for syncing my calendar and address book between my mobile device and my operating systems. I also preferred a locale installation instead of a cloud service solution.

How to run Android applications on Windows

There are applications for Android with no compatibility for windows. This was a huge issue for WhatsApp until they develop a web version. The goal is to be able to run any Android app on you Windows machine.

Java socket connection error OS X 10.11

You are trying to establish a socket connection in your java program, but it always fails and gives you the following message: "failed to join /224.0.75.75:7500 on awdl0: java.net.SocketException: Can't assign requested address". The problem only occurs on the mac, but not on windows or linux machines.

Wordpress surrounding content with <p> tags

You want to create a new Wordpress template with your own layout. With the basic setting Wordpress automatically surround the content you add with <p> tags, which can lead to unintended issues with the layout of your Wordpress site. Unfortunately there is no option in the menu to do this, so you have to find another solution.
