Configuring nginx server on unix systems hosted on Digitalocean

<strong>Digitalocean</strong> offers several virtual machines we can use. Most popular and user-friendly one is Ubuntu, and is especially preferred by developers who are used to work with it. On another hand, it is important to note that <strong>nginx</strong> can achieve its best performance only on unix-based systems, due to memory optimization and kernel architecture. Our challenge is to solve the configuration of a nginx server on Digitalocean, while noting the diferences between Apache and nginx configuration.

Connect NFC-Reader to RaspberryPi

NFC - Near Field Communication - is a short range (<10cm) contactless communication protocol. Many Smartphone have an NFC-Chip and several tags (stickers, cards, kesy rings, ...) are available. How can I use an NFC reader (e.g. http://www.identivenfc.com/en/nfc-readers/nfc-oem-reader-usb.htm) on a raspberryPi? To read tags or exchange data with smartphones.

Lack of i18n in Wordpress core

Lack of i18n in Wordpress core Every time, when I am making new page/site, the internationalization takes a huge part of my work. Especially, in Wordpress multisite surrounding. I had to use different kinds of plugins , and to use unknown code from unknown authors is not good idea. So every time, I need to invest time to go over those plugins to look if there are vulnerability and if it they are compatible with my version of WordPress. WordPress release every 3 months new version. So far I had to do it manually.

Automated remote backups in Linux

A lot of data is stored on publicly available drives/shares. These consist a definite value and need to be secured to pertain their value in case of service interruption or the like. So a reliably tool is required, which automates this daily task without user invention. What are recommendations in this area?

Capture of screen and audio

At the university there is frequent opportunity to present visual and audio content. It is desirably to have some means to capture this content for later reusal, like offering this content to the right peple via some media web content management system. What would be a non-invasive solution for this, ie. without modifying the presenter system ?
