For some old WLAN cards like DWL-650+ from D-Link no official drivers for Linux has been released. Furthermore during the installation process the card cannot be installed. There exist some third party device drivers that support those devices, but these are hard to find and often doesn’t work very well. Especially, the DWL-650+ causes problems in combination with Fedora 8. Sometimes it seems to work and sometimes it doesn’t.

Dolphin 6.1 from BoonEx is a community builder written in PHP and uses a MySQL database to store data. The main concept of Dolphin is to provide features that are used in social networks, such as building groups, share videos… Setting up Dolphin (on Mac OSX) is quite easy with the provided installation scripts (only some additional settings like for example permissions and additional graphical libraries are necessary). But still after a successful installation the system under Mac OSX doesn’t work perfect. The graphical operations are not executed correctly (and also some Ajax requests).

I am working as part time softwaretester in a software development company. In the last months the main part of my work was testing the same testcases over and over again. All startet with a few testcases for a relatively small frontend. But as time goes by, the software developed and the functionality grew...and so grew the frontend of the application and the complexety of the testcases. At the beginning i only had about 30 testcases which covered the overall functionality of the application.

In one of our project we built a Horizontal Cluster using IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.0.2.9. We use official IBM Guide (Redbook) to do this, however just following instructions how to add nodes always generated errors and didn't bring desired result. Only after testing a lot of different scenarious and consulting with specialists we have found some necessary steps to do before that helps to avoid this problem.

I have faced this problem many years ago and first time I just reinstalled the whole operation system. Then I found much easier and simple solution. However I still meet a lot of people (especially not computer science students) that don’t know how to solve this without reinstalling the whole system.

I have network switch to connect my PC and my friends' PC together. By the way, the dormitory provides internet connection by only one device that uses USB port. When we want to connect the internet, we have to plug the USB internet connection provided by the dormitory to one PC and use the internet via network switch. But it does not work. Only the PC that connect to the USB internet connection can connect the internet. How to configure it so that Every PC can connect internet via network switch?

I have problem almost every time I try to sign in MSN messeger in my room. It shows the message "Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to the MSN Messenger at this time. Please try again later." When I try the Troubleshoot, sometimes it shows key port error. I also checked the firewall that it does not block this application. Is it because of the internet connection in my room? By the way, it works quite fine when I browse the web in browser. How to set or configure so that it does not show the error?

Mozilla Firefox provides search tab which is convenience for searching. By the way, you may want to change search engine that you are familiar with. For example, you may want to change from google to yahoo and vice versa. Moreover, sometimes google search point to regional google of the location where you are.You may want to change to the language that you prefer. How to solve this problem?

How to provide the possiblity to contact a certain entity is difficult for many companies and organizations. Especially for small NGOs, it is not possible to have a big mailing infrastructure and to maintain server-side spam filtering. Therefore, email addresses should not be published as plaintext. Nevertheless, the website of the NGO should somehow offer the possibility to contact the NGO. It is important that the technology used is widespread and cheap, since NGOs do not have a large amount of money to spend on specialized technology. If possible, open source software should be used.

Lots of websites get updated on an irregular basis. Some may get updated every week, others get updated every hour; some may not get updated for month and users are bored looking up the website regulary and they do not find any new content. In addition, checking websites manually is not very efficient and costs a lot of time. The solution for this problem should provide an easy way to check websites and stay updated. It would be helpful if the tool is able to highlight changes.
