How to get the ImageUrl in DotNetNuke with FileID only

DotNetNuke provides the possiblility to upload Files. Instead to save whole file-paths its easier to store just a single integer. The CMS is responsible to map the actual file-location to the file represented. By storing a reference this allows you also to easily build slideshows, galleries or similar.

Transfer contacts from Nokia Phone (Symbian) to Google Phone (Android)

In the company I worked, I used Windows, Outllok and Nokia Phone N97mini. During that time I managed all my contacts at my company phone, which was used as private phone too. Automated tagging of newly created content on a Drupal platform

When you ask several people which tags they would use for a given text you might get several different opinions and also several very similar keywords. To avoid that and to ensure the sensible and consistent tagging of content an automated solution could be helpful. In addition it would also provide tags in the case that a user doesn't want to specify them.

Searching in file attachments on a Drupal platform

It is often the case that interesting information concerning a certain topic is not available at first sight. For instance: a user of a platform might write something concerning the topic of interest on a simple Drupal page but the really interesting information is hidden in a PDF-attachment. The standard Drupal search engine does not allow searching in file attachments and so a custom solution has to be found.

Viewing medical data (CT pictures) on Linux

I recently had to visit a CT institute to produce a series of CT-pictures depicting the internals of my nose (and parts of the head as well). The result was a series of about 120 pictures, each picture showing a small slice of the interesting region. They can be used by a medical doctor to examine the structure of the region of interest for example to prepare for a surgery.

Remote access for data collection from production equipment through SOAP and HTTP

Production equipment produces lots of data due to mounted sensors, positions of switches, state changes, etc. For reasons of process analysis those data are critical to be collected also remotely through a secure internet connection. The set of collected data or sampling rates may deviate from one analysis scenario to another. It might be different whether data are collected during material processing (active) or while the equipment is idle (stand by).
